So, the Best Friend works at the library here at uni. She needed some of our friends to pose for a READ Campaign poster that they're going to be putting up all around the campus. I'm sure you've seen these posters. They were all around our grade schools and such. Anyway, we decided to take the picture today, and here's the result:

Coldplay tomorrow!  I was so lucky  to get tickets to Coldplay at the United Center here!  Hopefully I will have pics tomorrow!  :D

I also have a shiny new phone, which I will call CERTAIN people on so I can FINALLY talk to them.  lol  I still love you!  <3

Ten Things I Love

* The Torchwood theme song.  Best 10 seconds EVER.  Enough said.
* ADVENTURE!  I LIVE for it!  
* Hearing a REALLY good song that inspires you to write a story for it.  Keane is most definitely my favorite band for this.
* lysanderpuck  and our crazy Monkees fangirling.  I think she's about the ONLY person EVER that I could do this with!  :P
* Observing people ala Sherlock Holmes or even Shawn Spencer.
* Ghost stories; a strange pleasure of life.
* Quirky comedy movies/TV shows.  Example:  Arrested Development.  :D
* A nice, hot, relaxing bath for no apparent reason whatsoever.  I happen to do this more than necessary, I'm sure.
* Scents!  (I know this is weird, but bear with me, please...)  Everything from the "burning leaves" smell on crisp Fall nights to the massive wall of fragrance you get while walking into Bath and Body Works.  I love it all!
* Theatre/Musicals.  They are just WAY too cool not to love.  The music is always lovely.

It's the New Year, and I feel like I should be doing something monumental with my time. 

Currently, I'm sitting in my friend's basement listening to a garage band practice and record a YouTube vid.  I've been pressed into service as their photographer....

Last night was an absolute blast.  The most hilarious moment by far was probably taking pics of trying to help my friend's cousin out of the snowy driveway and then helping myself.  I fell at one point on the VERY slippery ground and really thought I broke a rib.  Yeah, that was enough adventure for a whole evening.  I especially felt bad for another friend who attended the party in only a dress and was needed to get down on her knees in the snow while pushing the car.  There may be pics of the ordeal later if my friend ever allows them to be released to the public...   lol

Anyway, I hope all of you out there are enjoying your very first day of '08.  :D

I'm in Madison again chilling with my family for Christmas celebrations.  They are wacky...

As I type this, my uncle and father are fanboying the movie Tombstone.  Yeah...  My cousin is also chewing away on this straw she's had all day because she's quitting smoking and it's just KILLING her.  :(  Meanwhile, another cousin of mine has been asked to sit in the corner a number of times because he was causing trouble with my brother and another cousin of mine.  Wow, yeah...

More developments on teh craziness later...and maybe some comments on Voyage of the Damned. 

 

I want to write a fic or make a special vid or something for Christmas, but I'm feeling quite uninspired...  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I had to work until 5:00 today.  :(

First to lysanderpuck   for being the best soulmate in the universe and just being the coolest, awesomest person ever.  You really are the Al to my Sam and it's just brilliant.  Thank you for my gift, too.  :D  I can't wait to see what it is!

Also, thank yous go out to sunnygirlfriend   and pythiaprophet   for fulfilling two of my wish list requests.  You guys rock!  To anyone else who managed that as well, thank you!!!!  I'm sorry if I've forgotten you.  I'm a bit tired...

Thank you to mosaic   for the lovely Christmas card, and anyone else I may have missed.  For all of you who are expecting Christmas cards from me.  THEY WILL BE LATE.  I apologize, but I really had no time to mail them out before Christmas because of work and family constraints.  Sorry for their belatedness, but I promise they will still get there.  :D

I will probably make a post tomorrow morning sometime, but incase I don't, everyone HAVE A LOVELY CHRISTMAS and enjoy the DW special!!!!  ;)  Fic may be coming to you...  

Now, I think I'm off to take a relaxing bath and drink some gingerbread cocoa.  :)

Good morning all!  Yes, I do realize it's roughly 5 am and WAY, WAY too early for most people to be awake, but I've pulled another all-nighter because it's finals week.  Oh boy....

There is also talk of cancelling finals because we're having this HUGE ice storm.  Not sure how they'll reschedule, but I hope I just didn't lose sleep in vain.  :(

Got a new, shiny phone.  It is pretty and holds music.  I'm a really sad individual that I can be so easily amused by things like this...

Continuing on with the news in my very mundane life:  there's about fifty inches of snow on the ground.  O_o  Yeah, in Chicago, we take our seasons to the extreme...

I'm really liking Tin Man; probably more than I should. 

I think I may pull an all nighter and not sleep until Thursday...  This is not good.  :(

Woke up at 10:30 and since then have done laundry, ate breakfast, worked out, vacuumed, taken the trash out, and now I'm about to shower.  lol  Matt is coming today, and the room NEEDS to be spotless!  I can't wait to give my best friend hugs.  I haven't seen him in over a month.  

Also thinking about seeing Beowulf today even though I'll probably just be sitting there picking out everything that's wrong with the movie like I did when I went to see Troy.  Is that sad?  Why must they make movies out of stories that people have studied, HARDCORE, and then expect us to be okay with them?  lol  *rant over*

P.S.  Time Crash was just flippin' awesome!!!!  :D  I may make a review post later.  

EDIT:  Matt wants to go to the huge Magnificent Mile lighting ceremony tonight in the city!  I'd better put on my Chucks...
